About me

I’m Jonathan Astermark, a PhD student at the Division of Computer Vision and Machine Learning at Lund University, supervised by Viktor Larsson and Anders Heyden and funded by the ELLIIT project Geometrically Constrained Learning for Vision. Previously, I worked as a Machine Learning Engineer at Crunchfish AB in Malmö. I obtained my master’s degree in Engineering Physics with a focus on computing at Lund University in 2019.

My research is focused on geometry estimation in 3D computer vision such as Structure-from-Motion and Simultaneous Localization and Mapping. Specifically, I’m interested in the interplay of machine learning and geometry for robust, accurate, and efficient estimation.

In my free time, I enjoy boardgames, skiing, and traveling.
